Official YouTube App For iOS Devices Finally Released

A couple of weeks back Apple revealed that it was dropping support for its native YouTube app, which would not be included in the upcoming public release of iOS 6. Google started working on a standalone YouTube app for iOS devices. Today, the official YouTube app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch was released. The app has been exquisitely designed and is heavy on functionality.

The native iOS YouTube app was developed by Apple and it has not been significantly updated ever since it first came out in 2007. Google on the other hand owns YouTube meaning that they care much more about this video sharing service. Google’s new YouTube app is aesthetically pleasing in terms of design all while not compromising on features, services and functionality.

Official YouTube app for iOS is actually quite similar to the Android app. There’s unlimited access to VEVO music library, the app offers predictive search as well as the ability to share videos from within the app to Facebook, Twitter as well as Google Plus. This app also features adaptive streaming, meaning that the quality of the video being played will automatically be adjusted with respect to the speed of your data or WiFi connection.

More features include:

  • YouTube’s vast video catalog, including official music videos
  • Find videos and channels more easily with voice search and query autocomplete
  • Subscribe to channels and instantly access your subscriptions with the channel guide UI
  • Read comments, browse related videos, enable subtitles and more – all while watching
  • Easy video sharing to Google+, E-mail, Facebook and Twitter

Download official YouTube app for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch from iTunes App Store.
